Foxes - Electric Fencing
Feb 8th, 2010 at 8:19pm

Hi, we have now seen 3 hungry foxes lurking.  Our hens used to have the run of the field and garden, but now we have them penned up in a large fruit cage with extra wire netting round - Hen Colditz.  They are not happy.

Has anyone recently invested in electric fencing or know of a reputable supplier?  There are plenty on the web, but would be helpful to learn if there is a 'good' one out there - specifically 50m poultry kit battery.  Undecided

I have just purchased 200m of electric fencing from www.farmcareuk.com this consists of 4 ft plastic posts and 8 strands of wire/twine.  The guy was very helpful I told him what I wanted and he called me back with what I would need and a price.  I bought my electric poultry netting from the same company.

why not get in touch with your local gamekeeper to get rid of them in the end i would think he should jump at the chance with the breeding season of pheasents coming up he will not want them about either

Many thanks for all your replies.  I've asked around and we now have a contact for a 'shooter'...  But will defifintely invest in the electric fencing to be on the safe side.
