New club for Herts/Beds/Bucks? interested?

As we have a shortage of shows in the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire/Buckinghamshire area (there’s only Billington PC in Beds and High Wycombe Fanciers in Bucks, nothing in Herts!) a group of us in this area are thinking to start a new club –possibly re-forming the Luton and District Poultry Club if there are no objections.

We are having an informal meeting on Tuesday 16th March at The Three Blackbirds pub, Flamstead, Herts, AL3 8BS , at 7.30. This will be to see what interest there is, gather ideas about what people want etc. We are thinking along the lines of perhaps regular club meetings, organising a show, possibly a display at Herts County show, a box sale maybe?

Hi, Our first gathering went very well, with lots of enthusiasm, ideas and things to work at getting started. We have decided to meet every month on the first tuesday of the month. The next meeting will be on 6th of April again at the 3 blackbirds in Flamstead. you don't have to be stricktly within the Herts, Beds, Bucks boundaries to join us, eg we had people come from Cambs and Northants too

Thanks Alma, hope to see you at May meeting

We have been allocated a poultry tent at the Herts Show May 29th/30th which is fantastic. all help and ideas for the display welcome. Hopefully we can have a small show there in the future but this year it will be a display and getting support for the new club.

Hi Kim also, hope you can manage to get to the meeting on Tuesday. Flamstead village is just off junc 9 of the M1. not far from the Herts County Showground.
